Beginning in September 2017, the Live! Casino in Hanover, Maryland will host monthly qualifying blackjack tournaments. The tournaments are open to anyone with an interest in the game of blackjack. More than 300 players will be allowed to participate in the monthly tournaments, but seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To qualify for entry into each monthly tournament, players must earn 60,000 table game points with their Live! Casino player’s card. Points are earned for each session of live blackjack and vary depending on the amount wagered per hand as well as time played. Players who earn the necessary points may print out their entry slip at any player kiosk. The final step is to RSVP at the Live! Casino Rewards Club.
Each month there are a total of 54 cash winners. The top 24 advance to the final tournament where they will play tournament blackjack for $1 million dollars. $65,000 in prize money is also going to be given away each month.
The $1 Million Dollar Blackjack Tournament
In February of 2018, all those who have qualified in monthly tournaments will return to the Live! Casino for a shot at $1 Million. The winner of the live blackjack tournament will take home $500,000 with the remainder of the prize money being divided by the other top finishers. This is the first ever $1 Million Dollar Blackjack tournament to be held in the United States. It is sure to gather the attention of many top blackjack players. Of course, blackjack tournaments are also favorable to new players and many novices will also try their hand at the game.
The format of blackjack tournaments like these is pretty simple and straightforward. Players begin with a specified bankroll and play a set number of blackjack hands. At the end of the game, the player who has amassed the largest bankroll is declared the winner of that round. Multiple rounds are held until there are only enough players left for a final table. The winner of this final table is the overall champion and claims the lion’s share of the prize money.
