Who is responsible for the site?
Sam owns, edits and publishes CountingEdge. He has independently published gambling education since 2003, has more than 20 years of first-hand casino experience, and has played blackjack in more than 65 brick-and-mortar casinos across the United States.
Sam also owns and publishes CrapsPit.org, which he acquired in 2003, and EZHorseBetting.com, which he launched in 2013. Those are separate publications. CountingEdge keeps its own blackjack focus, terminology and editorial priorities.
What evidence-first means here
CountingEdge begins with the wager or claim as it actually exists. For blackjack, that means identifying the payout, number of decks, soft-17 rule, doubling, splitting, surrender and hole-card procedure before presenting strategy or an edge. For legal or commercial claims, it means checking regulators, statutes, official game rules, technical standards and current operator terms.
Personal observations are useful when they describe casino procedure or the practical demands of play. They are not used to prove that a system beats a random game. Mathematical statements are separated from opinion, and uncertainty is stated rather than filled with a confident guess.
